Ocala, FL : 65 -Years old man was struck and killed by a 2013 Hyundai Sonata on Saturday , January 24th 2015

Lucious Colbert 65, of Ocala, was struck and killed by a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, according to the FHP. The car was driven by Allen L. Hopkins, 74, of Ocala.

Colbert was pronounced dead on the scene at 9:50 p.m.

In the Umatilla crash, just north of the Lake-Marion County line, the driver was killed when the 2001 Ford F-150 he was driving ran off County Road 42 and barreled through a fence, ejecting him into a lot, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The single-vehicle crash occurred less than 50 yards away from the Lake County line in Umatilla.

The driver was pronounced dead by Lake County Fire Rescue officials at the scene.

Troopers said the vehicle was speeding eastbound on CR 42 and approaching a left-hand curve when the driver lost control of the truck and it ran off the two-lane roadway.

The truck then crashed through a wire fence, which led into a cow pasture, overturned multiple times and ejected the driver. Officials said the man was not wearing a seat belt.

In the I-75 crash, Colbert was trying to cross Interstate 75 on foot and was struck by a car, according to the FHP. The accident occurred in the southbound lanes less than a mile south of the State Road 40 exit.
