Monroe County, PA : N.J. man killed in wrong-way crash on Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania on Tuesday morning, June 28, 2016

The New Jersey resident killed in Tuesday morning's fiery wrong-way crash on Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania was from Woodbridge, according to a report.

A 2010 Ford Focus driven by William Novak Jr., 68, of the Keasbey section of the township, crossed over the center median into the eastbound lanes and was struck head-on by a tractor-trailer, according to PoconoRecord.com.

The collision took place near mile marker 300.5 in Monroe County, east of the Tannersville exit, just after 6 a.m., the website reported.

The tractor-trailer driver said Novak turned his vehicle into the path of the larger vehicle. A pickup truck and an SUV that were struck following the first collision also caught fire and were destroyed.

Novak, who went through the front windshield of the Ford, was pronounced dead at 7:14 a.m.

The drivers of the SUV and tractor-trailer were treated and released from a local hospital for minor injuries.
