LAS VEGAS, NV : Driver suspected of DUI arrested after fatal crash with pedestrian, Charleston near 10th on Sunday, 20th October 2024

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead on Sunday.

Around 12:18 a.m., police responded to a crash on East Charleston near 10th Street involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

According to police, evidence at the scene, including witness statements and video surveillance, indicated that a Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound on Charleston east on 10th St. in the middle of three lanes.

The 51-year-old pedestrian was crossing Charleston outside of a marked crosswalk and crossed the path of the Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota, 23-year-old Nicholas Pinal hit the pedestrian's right side and projected him forward, police say.

Paramedics arrived and tried all life-saving measures, officials say.

The pedestrian died at the scene.
