Oroville,CA : Corning man named in fatal collision on January, Wednesday 3rd 2018
The Butte County Coroner’s Office released the name of the Corning man who died Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle collision at State Route 99 north of Badger Creek Road in Oroville.
Donald Herrmann, 39, was a passenger in a 2006 Toyota Matrix and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, Chico’s Holly Nadine Logan, 36, crossed the median for unknown reasons and collided with the right front of a vehicle driven by Los Molinos’ Kimberlee Z. Bainbridge, 52, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ryan Lambert.
Bainbridge, traveling southbound on SR99 in a 1990 Toyota Camry, was airlifted to Enloe Medical Center in Chico with moderate injuries.
All parties involved were wearing seatbelts, contributing to the survival of the two drivers.
Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be a factor in the collision.
This was the first fatality of the year, Lambert said.
The collision remains under investigation.
