ROSEVILLE, CA : Morton man killed in Roseville crash on Thursday, 22nd November 2018

A Morton man died in a single-vehicle crash here afternoon.

Christopher C. Sage, 25, Morton, formerly of Monmouth, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash about 3:11 p.m. A state police news release listed Sage as residing in Knoxville; his death notice from a local funeral home listed Morton.

According to an Illinois State Police news release, Scott M. Monroe, 18, Tremont, was driving a Dodge van westbound on Illinois 116 west of 105th Street at about 3:11 p.m. Wednesday. Sage was a passenger in the van.

“Monroe was distracted from inside the vehicle and traveling at a high rate of speed. This caused the driver to swerve and lose control of the vehicle,” the news release said.
