VIRGIL, NY : Fatal crash south of Syracuse closes northbound I-81 lane on Wednesday, December 21st 2016

State police say they’re investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 81 south of Syracuse.

Troopers say the accident involving a car and a tractor-trailer occurred around 3:50 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes in the Cortland County town of Virgil, 35 miles south of Syracuse.

Police say the right lane is closed but traffic is moving in the left lane.

No other details have been released.
