Brevard County, FL : 2 injured after tractor trailer collision in Brevard early Saturday, November 19, 2016

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a collision between two tractor trailers that injured two people early Saturday.

Brevard County firefighters said they were called to the area of mile marker 226 around 5:22 a.m., Saturday about two semi tractor trailers that collided on Interstate 95.

Firefighters said when they arrived, one of the cabs of the semi trucks was on fire.

After extinguishing the fire, firefighters transported two people and one had to be taken to the hospital.

Southbound Interstate 95 was shut down for a while, but one lane has since re-opened, officials said.

Firefighters said one of the trucks was carrying sheet rock and the other was carrying soft drinks.

Troopers are asking drivers to avoid the area as they investigate the cause of the accident.
