Campbell county, TN : Jacksboro police officer hurt in crash on Little Cove Creek Road at State Highway 116 on Friday, January 23, 2015

A Jacksboro police officer was taken to UT Medical Center Friday after a crash.

It happened around 4:00 p.m. Friday on Little Cove Creek Road at State Highway 116 and involved the officer and another car.

Jacksboro police officer Mike Starrett was responding to a deadly crash when a pick up truck lost control and hit his cruiser.

Starrett was taken to UT Medical Center. His condition has not been released.

The driver of the pick up truck was taken to LaFollette Hospital and has been charged with failure to maintain control and failure to exercise due care.
