Man dies after multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 10
A man was killed early Thursday morning after being thrown from his truck in an accident that involved up to nine vehicles on Interstate 10.The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the driver of the black Toyota truck was speeding and lost control near Chandler Boulevard. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The resulting crash created a chain reaction that involved three commercial vehicles and possibly up to nine vehicles total.
Two other individuals were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to DPS.
Eastbound I-10 was shut down from Ray Road to Chandler Boulevard for several hours Thursday morning as crews worked to clear the scene. The roadway reopened at 8:15 a.m.
