SOUTH BEND, IN : Woman dies in crash with South Bend police cruiser on Friday, 20th July 2018

Authorities say a woman has died after her SUV collided with a South Bend police cruiser.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office says the 22-year-old woman died at a hospital Friday following the 4:30 a.m. crash. Her name wasn’t immediately released.

Police says the cruiser’s siren and emergency lights were activated at the time of the crash. They say the officer involved was treated at a hospital for face and back injuries.

The officer’s name hasn’t been released.
