Police are asking for the public's help in finding a vehicle wanted in connection to a hit and run in west Charlotte on Tuesday.
The incident was reported on the 3800 block of Brookshire Boulevard at 3:32 a.m.
Officers found the pedestrian, 51-year-old Robert Lee Stephenson Jr. lying in the roadway.
He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
His condition has since improved, police say.
Stephenson was not crossing at an intersection and was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
The vehicle that hit him is described as a silver or gray pickup truck and was last seen traveling outbound on Brookshire Boulevard.
