HAVERHILL, MA : No students were in Haverhill school bus that crashed morning; driver uninjured on Wednesday, 29th August 2018

A school bus that had completed its morning run in Bradford and was heading to Haverhill High was struck by two vehicles while waiting to proceed through the intersection at White's Corner, a bus company official said.

Sus Bellerose, officer manager for Coppola bus company which provides transportation for Haverhill public school students, said the bus driver was uninjured, but that the bus received significant damage from the collision, which happened around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Bellerose said the bus was heading north on Main Street at the time. The crash happened at the traffic lights at Main and Merrimack streets, at the eastern end of downtown.

"From what witnesses say, a car ran the red light on Water Street and made a left turn around the bus, which was waiting to proceed, and as that car made it around the bus, it collided with a car taking a right turn off of Merrimack Street, and both vehicles got pushed into the bus," she said.
