Ardmore, OK : Two critically injured in a crash on I-35 in Murray County on Monday evening, January 2, 2017

A pair of Texas men were both critically injured Monday evening when the semi they were traveling in crashed near mile marker 46 on Interstate 35.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports show the accident happened about 8:25 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the interstate when the truck ran off the road. The patrol said Jamme L. Barrera, 28, Waskom, Texas, identified as the
driver, was airlifted from the scene. Barrera was admitted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in critical condition with multiple injuries. Michael L. Fowler, 24, Jefferson, Texas, a passenger in the truck, was also airlifted to the metro medical facility. He too was admitted in critical condition with multiple injures.
Crash investigation revealed the 2006 International trailer ran off the right side of the road, traveled through a wooded area and overturned an undetermined number of time before coming to rest and catching fire. Both Barrera and Fowler were ejected from the cab of the truck during the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Factors listed as unknown Tuesday included: condition, of driver, cause of collision, seatbelt use.
