A school bus collided with a Suburban SUV on Triadelphia Mill Road, in Clarksville, Friday morning after the bus crossed the center line, Howard County police said.
Police said no one on the bus, which was carrying five students to Folly Quarter Middle School, in Ellicott City, was injured. The driver of the Suburban, a 17-year-old female, was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was listed in stable condition, according to police.
There were two 15-year-old passengers in the Suburban who were not injured, police said.
The accident occurred about 7 a.m., when police said the school bus driver, Elizabeth Farinholt, 52, of Pasadena, crossed the center line into the westbound lane, where it collided with the Suburban.
Farinholt was cited for failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to drive right of center, police said. Triadelphia Mill Road was closed for several hours during the police investigation.
