A single-vehicle crash north of Bozeman on Sunday night killed the driver and injured the vehicle’s passenger.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, at about 7:50 p.m. Sunday, two people were driving south on Story Mill Road in a Honda Accord.
The car went off the right shoulder near the intersection with Longhorn Road and overcorrected into the opposite lane. The car then went off the road, struck an embankment, rolled and landed upright.
The driver, a 31-year-old man from Connecticut, died at the hospital. The 27-year-old female passenger, who is from Bozeman, was injured and also taken to the hospital.Alcohol, drugs and speed appear to be factors in the crash, the patrol said. The driver was not wearing a seat belt; the passenger was.
The name of the dead man has not been released. The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating.
The death marked the 56th fatality on Montana roads this year.
