A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on southbound Interstate 95 in Volusia County on New Year's Day, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
It happened around 2:20 p.m. The victim was airlifted to Central Florida Regional Hospital in critical condition, according to officials.
I-95 was temporarily shut down in the area of the crash
