FLEMING ISLAND, FL : 6 units evacuated after car crashes through apartment wall in Fleming Island on Friday, 5th February 2021

A driver told first responders she hit the gas instead of the brake and crashed through the wall of an apartment building Friday in Fleming Island.

The crash was reported at the Lighthouse at Fleming Island apartment complex on Marsh Hawk Lane, west of U.S. 17.

Six apartments were evacuated while the Clay County Building Department inspected the structure. A structural engineer was en route just after 2 p.m.
