Apex ,NC : One driver injured and sent to hospitasl after Two cars Collision along Highway 55 on Monday ,May 4 2015

Highway 55 in Apex was closed Monday morning at the intersection of Old Jenks Road due to a serious car crash.

Two cars were involved in the accident. Police said a vehicle was heading north on Highway 55 and crossed into the lane of a vehicle that was turning out of Peak Plaza.

As of 10:40 a.m., the road was back open.

Witnesses said the crashes sounded like a bomb went off.

The driver of one of the vehicles was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
