Hamilton, NJ : Several people hurt, including three children in School bus, medical transport van, and car collide in Mercer County on Wednesday, April 22, 2015
Hamilton police are investigating a three-vehicle crash involving a school bus and medical transport van at an intersection adjacent to Nottingham High School.
Police at the scene declined to say whether any students were on the bus at the time of the crash, or whether there were injuries to the drivers of the vehicles. Police spokesman Capt. James Stevens did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
Police blocked off a portion of Hamilton Avenue while three tow trucks started removing vehicles just after 5 p.m.
The school bus, from the Delaware Valley Bus Line, was diagonally positioned in the intersection, crushing what appeared to be a public bus station. Nearby, a maroon Honda Accord sat with its front end nearly completely missing while a white van from the Accurate Medical Transport company was on a tow truck.
Debris from the vehicles was scattered along Hamilton Avenue.
According to a driver involved in the crash who declined to give his name, the van was traveling on Klockner Road when it struck the school bus as it traveled on Hamilton Avenue. The school bus then struck and "ran over" the front end of the Honda, the driver said.
