Ann Arbor, MI : Woman dies in motorcycle accident on Southfield Freeway in Dearborn on Monday, August 8, 2016
A 21-year-old Southfield woman died Monday in a motorcycle accident on the northbound Southfield Freeway.
The woman was a passenger on a motorcycle being driven by a 21-year-old Detroit resident that rear-ended a Dodge driven by a 19-year-old Detroit resident at 12:02 a.m. Monday near the Ford Road exit.
The woman suffered fatal injuries in the crash while the motorcycle driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, along with the driver of the Dodge who sustained minor injuries.
Speed was a contributing factor in the crash, according to Dearborn police, but it’s not yet known if alcohol played a role.
