IREDELL COUNTY, NC : Deputy killed in crash involving fellow deputy in Iredell County on Wednesday, 18th July 2018

One deputy was killed and another is on administrative leave after the two were involved in a crash in Iredell County Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened around 2 p.m. on the 4000 block of Taylorsville Highway north of Statesville.
According to Sheriff Darren Campbell, Deputy Justin Betts was on duty when he slowed to make a left-hand turn toward Statesville. That's when he collided with deputy Corporal Bill Wood, who was off-duty and riding a motorcycle.
Corporal Wood was pronounced dead at the scene.
