An Altoona woman, 44-year-old Dalysa C. Miller, died in a crash on Highway 27 and County TT at 9:47 a.m. Monday, the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office said on Tuesday.
Miller was the only occupant of a vehicle that was northbound on Highway 27 when the vehicle crossed left of center and hit a southbound vehicle driven by Ronald E. Puzia, 77, of Milwaukee. Jacquelyn Puzia, 72, was a passenger. She was injured and taken to a hospital.
The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office said both vehicles were engulfed in flames when deputies arrived.
The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle, Miller, had to be pulled from it by first responders and deputies.
