EL PASO, TX : 1 person dies, 2 injured after crash on I-10 east at Porfirio Diaz on Saturday, 16th December 2023

Police identified the woman who died after a deadly hit-and-run crash on Saturday night.

The incident happened around 7:35 p.m. on I-10 East at Porfirio Diaz.

The incident involved a 2015 Ford Mustang that fled the scene, a 2013 Dodge Charger, a 2023 Volkswagen, Jetta, and a 2010 Acura.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the Dodge Charger with a flat tire, had pulled over on the center median (out of traffic) to change the tire.

One of the male pedestrians was changing the tire while the others were trying to warn oncoming traffic to slow down.

The driver of a 2010 Acura observed the pedestrians, warning traffic to slow down and slow down to make it safer for the pedestrians.

This is when the Ford Mustang driving in the same lane, swerved left and entered the center median to avoid the Acura.

The Mustang then struck the Charger and three pedestrians.
