Allegheny Township, PA : Tractor-trailer driver dies in turnpike crash in Somerset County early Thursday, May 5, 2016

The driver of a tractor-trailer died early Thursday when his rig crashed, overturned and caught fire along the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset County.

Coroner Wallace Miller identified the driver as Douglas McKenzie of Millersville, Md.

Authorities said the accident occurred about 12:20 a.m. near milepost 126.5 westbound along the turnpike in Allegheny Township.

Miller said McKenzie, whose age was not available, was pronounced dead at the scene. He said autopsy and toxicology results to determine the exact cause and manner of death are pending.

State police at the turnpike station in Somerset are investigating the accident.
