Police say a Long Island sanitation worker was killed after he fell off the back of a garbage truck and was hit by the vehicle as it was backing up.

Newsday reports 44-year-old Jose Molina was fatally struck around 6 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Weinmann Boulevard and Raintree Road in Melville.
