MAYFIELD, KY : Graves County looking for hit-and-run suspect on Monday, 25th March 2024

The Graves County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect involved in a pedestrian hit-and-run collision.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the 16000 Block of U.S. 45 South in Water Valley.

According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, a preliminary investigation showed that Jaime Jackson of Water Valley was crossing the roadway to retrieve a dog when a burgundy SUV was traveling southbound at what witnesses say was "a high rate of speed" when the vehicle struck Jackson. Witnesses also said that the vehicle briefly stopped before departing northbound towards Mayfield.

According to the post, Jackson sustained "traumatic injuries" and was airlifted to an area hospital. An investigation is ongoing by Deputy Garret Clark.
