NEWARK, DE : Wilmington man killed in motorcycle crash on Sunday, February 5th 2017
Delaware State Police say a Wilmington man is dead after he apparently went off a road while riding a motorcycle, striking a guardrail.
Police said in a statement that the crash happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday near Pike Creek in New Castle County. The 31-year-old was apparently traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a left curve. He was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say he was wearing a helmet and it’s not immediately clear whether drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor.
The man’s name was being withheld pending notification of kin.
