Phenix City, AL : Elderly man killed after hitting parked car roadside on Friday November 27 2015

An elderly man was killed Friday in a crash on Interstate 85 that snarled traffic for hours.
The Alabama State Troopers this evening identified the victim as Willie Lee Johnson. He was 86, and lived in Phenix City.
The crash happened at 12:15 p.m. on I-85 at the 41 mile marker, said Cpl. Jesse Thornton. Johnson was driving a 2015 Nissan Rogue when he left the roadway and struck a Toyota Tundra that was parked on the road's shoulder. Johnson was taken to East Alabama Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The crash remains under investigation by state troopers.
