Acton, CA : Two injured in crash off Highway 14 near Santiago Road on Monday, July 11, 2016

Two people were injured and taken to the hospital Monday after becoming trapped inside a car that crashed near Acton and plunged more than 100 feet down an embankment, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

The crash happened shortly after 10 a.m. Monday on the northbound lanes of Highway 14 near Santiago Road, the Fire Department spokesman said.

Fire Department paramedics and California Highway Patrol officers arrived and found an overturned white BMW 100 feet down a ravine with two occupants trapped inside it, according to the CHP.

After the two occupants were freed from the wreckage, they were rushed by ambulance to an undisclosed trauma center, the Fire Department spokesman said.
