A motorcyclist was killed Thursday in a collision with a car in Santa Clarita, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 4:50 a.m. at Sierra Highway and Placerita Canyon Road, said sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Cohen of the Santa Clarita Valley Station.
The man, who was in his 20s, died at the scene, Cohen said. Authorities withheld his name, pending notification of his relatives.
The Placerita Canyon Road offramp from the southbound 14 Freeway was closed about 5:10 a.m. to prevent traffic from entering the scene, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Sheriff’s investigators were working to determine the cause of the crash.
