Three people were taken to the hospital after a car was rear-ended by a truck in Rochester Sunday monrning.
Police said the crash occurred at the intersection of Washington Street and Chesley Hill Road.A man driving a 2007 Toyota Yaris was stopped on the westbound side of Washington Street, waiting to turn onto Chesley Hill Road just before 11 a.m., police said.
They said his car was struck from behind by a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Robert Alexander, 76, of Rochester.Both vehicles sustained significant damage and the road was closed for several hours.
Alexander was wearing his seat belt and was not injured.
A woman who was in the back seat of the Yaris was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Yaris and a child, who was in a car seat, were also taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are not releasing the identities of the injured parties at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
