Alexandria, LA : Urania man dies in crash near Olla Wednesday afternoon, July 13, 2016
A Urania man died Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash near Olla, according to Louisiana State Police.
A 2000 Ford pickup truck, driven by 61-year-old Danny R. Corley, had collided with a 1979 AMG, an 18-wheeler that was hauling a skidder on La. Highway 127 south of Olla, according to the release. The Ford was traveling southbound, while the AMG was traveling northbound.
"As the Ford passed the private escort vehicle, it moved to the right and collided with a guardrail," reads the release. "After this initial collision, the Ford then crossed the center line and collided with the AMG."
Corley was not wearing a seat belt. He died at the scene.
The other driver, 36-year-old Larry W. Adkins Jr. of Grayson, was wearing his seat belt. He was not injured, according to the release.
An investigation continues into the crash.
