Two drivers involved in a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 59 in Goliad County on Tuesday afternoon have been identified.

David Dowdle, 62, of Tennessee, died after crashing his 2016 Jeep west of Cologne Road about 12:30 p.m., said Sgt. Deon Cockrell, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety.

Eric Deleon, 29, of Falfurrias, was driving a tractor-trailer and suffered unspecified injuries, Cockrell said.

Cockrell said he could not yet provide an account of how the vehicles crashed.
