FOUNTAIN, CO : Semi-truck crash in Fountain has closed the northbound lanes of I-25 on Thursday, 4th January 2024

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, a crash on I-25 between US 85 and exit 132 - Mesa Ridge Parkway has caused the northbound lanes to be closed. Our KRDO 13 team is reporting a semi-truck involved in the incident.

A semi-truck on I-25 near Fountain jack-knifed off the interstate around 4 this morning, creating traffic chaos. Drivers sat in the traffic for hours today, missing appointments, school, and work due to the hours-long backup.

Northbound traffic is being diverted over the Sante Fe bridge to Highway 85/87. Currently, there is no timeline for reopening, but crews are making progress.

That semi truck is now off the guard rail, but there is still much to clean up.

One of the two trailers the truck was pulling was tipped over, blocking both northbound lanes. Tow trucks were able to tow both trailers to clear the road, but now they are working on repairing the guardrail.
