Sacramento, CA : One killed in crash in western Fresno County on Monday, August 28, 2017
One man died Monday morning near Huron after a car struck and droven under a tractor-trailer rig, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash at Gale and Butte avenues, near the Los Gatos tomato plant, was reported shortly before 8 a.m. The driver of the four-door white Dodge was pinned inside and died at the scene.
The victim, a 42-year-old Reedley man, was not identified.
He was driving a Dodge south on Butte Avenue, south of Gale Avenue with a KIA a few car lengths behind. The driver of the Kenworth truck, Maria Aguilera, 37, of Five Points, was north on Butte Avenue hauling tomato tubs.For an unknown reason, the driver of the Doge allowed his vehicle to drift left, partially into the opposing lane, then back into the southbound lane before once again drifting into the opposing lane.
The truck driver had no time to take evasive action as it collided head-on with the Dodge, scattering debris and striking the KIA, driven by Omar Medrano-Soto, 24, of Hanford.
The CHP ins continuing its investigation.
