EUSTIS, FL : Palm Harbor woman killed in Lake County crash on Sunday, January 1st 2017
A Palm Harbor motorist was killed early Sunday morning after she crashed into a tree on a Lake County Road.
Monica Everton, 20, died at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
The crash occurred at the intersection of County Road 439 and County Road 44A in Eustis at about 2:10 a.m. Sunday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Everton was driving a 2012 Hyundai south on CR 439 when she crossed into the northbound lanes, veered onto the east shoulder and struck a tree.
An FHP report adds Everton was not wearing a seat belt.
Alcohol tests are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
