State police say the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 in Albany have re-opened after troopers investigated an accident that has left a motorist hospitalized.

Troopers say a vehicle became disabled when a front tire blew out around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on the cloverleaf area of I-90 near the Patroon Island Bridge, which carries the highway over the Hudson River.

Police say 32-year-old Daniel Granger of Poestenkill got out and tried to cross the road, but was hit by a tractor-trailer. He suffered head and chest injuries and was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he's listed in stable condition.

Troopers say the westbound lanes of I-90 reopened at 2:30 p.m.

No tickets have been issued. The investigation continues.
