A Fort Myers woman was pronounced dead at the scene after crashing into a home garage in Estero early Saturday, authorities reported.

A call about the crash in the 2000 block of Calice Court came in at 2:40 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said.

It's thought Kristina Marie Josie, 32, veered off Grande Oak Boulevard in her 2008 Pontiac G6, hit a concrete sign, shrubs, a garage door and an unoccupied car parked in the garage, the report states. Josie wasn't wearing a seat belt.

The crash remained under investigation Saturday afternoon. It wasn't known whether drugs or alcohol played a role, according to the FHP report. which doesn't say whether Josie was speeding.
