A 43-year-old man died in Northport early Sunday morning when he drove his motorcycle off-road and into a utility pole, police confirmed Monday afternoon. Lt. Keith Carpenter of the Northport Police Department said Grant Dennis Campbell was riding north on Highway 69 after shortly 3 a.m. Sunday when he left the road and struck the pole. NPD, the Northport Fire Department and an ambulance service responded, but Carpenter said Campbell was pronounced dead on the scene.
