Gurnee, IL : Wisconsin man killed in rollover crash near Gurnee early Monday, April 10, 2017

A 25-year-old Burlington, Wisconsin man died early Monday after he was thrown from his car in a rollover crash on a Lake County tollway ramp, authorities said.

Authorities said the man was driving onto the eastbound Interstate 94 ramp at Route 120 near Gurnee at about 1:10 a.m. Monday, when he lost control of his 2007 Buick Lucerne. Witnesses told investigators the car was traveling at a high rate of speed before it rolled over, throwing the driver from the vehicle, according to Lake County Sheriff's police.

The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is being investigated by the Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit, and Illinois State Police assisted at the scene.
