WILLIAMSTOWN TWP, MI : Fatal crash victims identified as Mason residents on Thursday, 10th November 2016

Two Mason residents were killed in a crash Thursday morning near the intersection of Meridian Road and Grand River Avenue.

Meridian Township police identified the victims as Lawrence Merindorf, 87, and Joyce Felton, 86.

They were headed north on Meridian in a compact pickup truck and were trying to turn left onto Grand River when they were hit by a sport-utility vehicle about 11:30 a.m., said Meridian Township Police Capt. Greg Frenger.

Multiple occupants from the other vehicle were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, he said.

Further information was not available, and investigators have not determined who was at fault, he said.

The intersection was closed for about three hours.

Police ask anyone with information about the crash to call 853-4800, or submit an anonymous tip through the Department’s social media sites.
