DENTON, MD : Pikesville man dies in Route 404 accident on Wednesday, 14th March 2018
A Pikesville man died Tuesday, March 14, in a crash on state Route 404 near River Road in Denton when his SUV collided with the back of a tractor-trailer.
According to Maryland State Police, Brian Douglas Dulledge, 50, was traveling west on Route 404 near River Road at about 6:35 p.m. Tuesday when his white Hyundai Santa Fe struck the rear of a tractor-trailer. Dulledge was flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, and was later pronounced dead.
The tractor-trailer was being driven by Olanrewaj O. Aijke, 42, of Smyrna, Del. Aijke was not injured in the accident.
State police said Route 404 at River Road was closed to vehicle traffic in both directions for about one hour. The Santa Fe was towed from the scene. The trailer was left on the shoulder and the truck tractor was towed from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
The Maryland State Police was assisted by Paramedic 16 of Greensboro, Station 300 of Denton Fire Department, MSP Crash Team, MSP Commercial Enforcement Division, MSP Trooper 6 and Caroline County Sheriff’s Office.
