DELRAY BEACH, FL : Man, 78, dies in crash west of Delray; complained of dizziness on Thursday, March 16th 2017
A 78-year-old man was killed in a car crash west of the city Thursday after complaining to his wife of dizziness, then crashing into a light pole, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The man was identified as Jerry Ginsberg of suburban Delray Beach. The crash occurred at about 10 p.m. on Linton Boulevard east of Jog Road. According to a crash report, Ginsberg told his wife, Joyce, he felt dizzy, then went unconscious.
His car veered off the roadway and jumped the curb before hitting a wooden Florida Power & Light Co. pole. The crash caused live power lines to land on the car, prompting about a 15-minute delay in response by paramedics.
Ginsberg died at Delray Medical Center, the sheriff’s office said.
Ginsberg’s wife was able to escape the crash without injury, the report said.
