Brooklyn ,NY : Man struck and killed as car backs up in New york on Monday ,june 29th 2015

New York City police say a man was struck and killed as a car parked in Brooklyn began to back up.

They say the victim was standing behind the car when it started going in reverse around 5:35 p.m. Monday.

They say the victim was knocked to the ground after being struck.

The car then pulled forward and reversed again, pinning the man under a rear tire.

The driver remained at the scene. No charges were filed.

The investigation is continuing.

The victim's name wasn't immediately released.

The accident occurred at Empire Boulevard and Balfour Place.
