A Hendersonville man was killed when his car went off the road and into a business, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the wreck happened just after 10 p.m. Tuesday at Pace’s Automotive Performance, on U.S. Highway 176 or Spartanburg Highway in East Flat Rock.
Timothy Gonzalez, 24, died in the wreck, troopers confirmed.
They said Gonzalez was driving a silver Nissan Xterra at the time of the crash.
Gonzalez was speeding along Spartanburg Highway when his SUV went off the road and into the parking lot of the automotive shop, troopers said.
The SUV hit two parked cars, then went airborne before it flipped and went into the front of the business, troopers said.
Gonzalez was wearing a seat belt, but was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.
By morning, the front of the business was boarded up, and evidence of the wreck could still be seen.
