A multi-vehicle crash on Route 2 west caused extensive back-ups Thursday morning.
At least five people were transported to the hospital after the late-morning crash near the Templeton line, police said. Firefighters used extrication tools to free occupants.
Traffic in both directions was detoured for more than an hour. The eastbound lanes opened about 12:15 p.m., with the westbound lanes cleared at 1 p.m.
