Florida Power & Light expects to restore power in the area around Yahl Street in North Naples by 3:30 p.m., a spokesman said. Crews are working to replace a pole and restring the power lines, the spokesman said.A truck crashed into power lines in an industrial park in North Naples and officials are looking at turning off power in the area to free the driver, officials said.
The crash happened shortly before 8 a.m. across the street from 5556 Yahl St., said Assistant Chief Jorge Aguilera from the North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District.
The driver was not injured, but Florida Power & Light officials may have to shut off power in the area to free the driver, which could lead to a "significant" power outage there, Aguilera said.
"The person is unable to get out of the vehicle," he said. "They're gonna have to shut down the power."
FPL turned off power for 109 customers in the area, said FPL spokesman Bill Orlove. Officials disconnected the grid at 7:50 a.m. and will restore it once it is safe to do so, Orlove said.
