Williamson County, IL : Harrisburg man killed and four people injured in a wreck on Illinois 148 involving three vehicles on Thursday morning, January 7, 2016

Illinois State Police say the driver of the semi involved in a wreck that blocked traffic on Illinois Rout 148 near Ogden Road in Williamson County, Illinois, Thursday morning has died.

ISP says the semi was southbound a 10th of a mile from Ogden Road when it crossed into the northbound lanes of Route 148 and into the path of a pickup truck and an SUV.

The semi passed the SUV without hitting it but sideswiped the pickup truck, according to state police, before it rolled completely over and came to rest upright in a ditch. The semi spilled a load of coal in the process.

The driver of the semi, 62-year-old Randall Engleby of Harrisburg, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck by Williamson County Coroner Junior Burke at 9:45 a.m.

The driver of the SUV, 53-year-old Barbara Holland of Vienna, had to swerve to avoid the semi. State police say she hit her head in the process and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the pickup truck, 27-year-old Jessica Adams of Cairo, was taken to a regional hospital for what state police say were major injuries. Two passengers in the truck — 22-year-old Jacob Morrison of Cairo and a juvenile male from Cairo — were both taken to a local hospital.
