Saint Augustine,FL : 1 killed, 1 injured in Saturday morning crash on I-95 on September, Saturday 2nd 2017

One man was killed and another was injured Saturday morning when their pickup truck wrecked on Interstate 95.

Aaron Dalton, 29, of DeLand, was killed and 18-year-old Noah Chavez, also of DeLand, was critically injured after they were both ejected from the truck that had been traveling northbound near mile marker 297 around 7:15 a.m.

A release from Florida Highway Patrol said it is still unclear who was driving the truck, but a narrative of the crash said the Dodge was traveling in the center lane when it “swerved to the outside lane to go around another vehicle.”

The truck lost control on the wet road and “began rotating while traveling off the right side of the roadway” then overturned “several times,” the release said.

Chavez was taken to UF Health Jacksonville in critical condition.
