LAKELAND, FL : Five people were injured in a two-car crash on Saturday, December, 9th 2017
Five people were injured in a two-car crash Saturday, but all are expected to survive, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Daniel Ortiz, 18, was traveling east in a gray Chevrolet Silverado on New Tampa Highway near the intersection of Clark Road when he struck the passenger-side door of a red Volkswagen being driven by Zacharias Castedo-Rogers, 32, deputies said. Castedo-Rogers had attempted to turn left onto Clark Road from the westbound lanes of New Tampa Highway, violating the right-of-way.
Ortiz, of Bradley, and his passenger Madison Berry, 16, of Mulberry, were taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. The same was true for Castedo-Rogers, of Winter Haven, and his passengers, Randi Price, 33, of Winter Haven, and Daniel Martinez, 29, of Davenport, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Both drivers and Price were treated and released, the Sheriff’s Office said. Martinez and Berry remain hospitalized, but are both in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.
